PHC Proteus (2019-2020):

Bilateral project between Laboratoire Matériaux Optiques Photonique et Systèmes (LMOPS) and Institute Jozef Stefane (Slovenia)

The present project joins the efforts and know-how of two groups working in the field of photonics, one specialized in liquid crystal physics, the other specialized in nonlinear optics of crystalline materials and specifically light-induced nonlinear effect in photorefractive materials. Both material systems are important in modern photonics, nevertheless, devices combining their favorable physical and optical properties are still largely lacking. The project studies and explores different approaches by which the properties of the two kinds of media can be exploited in a synergetic manner.
